About Meridex

The meridian is where the sun reaches its highest point.

Brief, precise, and without shadow. Meridex takes its name from this hour — and builds spatial software in the same spirit: clear, fast, and made to get out of your way.

Why Meridex exists

The gap is
everywhere.

Meridex began with a simple observation made firsthand — through a GIS masters and a thesis on stakeholder engagement, at the Esri Saudi user conference, and inside operating companies like Yeep: organizations are drowning in spatial data and starved of ways to use it.

The incumbent tools assume a GIS analyst. Most companies don’t have one. The modern tools are horizontal mapping canvases with no domain knowledge and no regional presence. Nobody was building the thing that was obviously needed: an AI-native platform that turns spatial data into working applications, in the language and context of the region generating the most spatial data on earth right now.

So we’re building it.

What we believe

Four principles
we build by.

Spatial data is too valuable to be locked behind specialist software.
Most organizations already pay to collect spatial data. They shouldn't need a dedicated analyst and a six-figure license to get value from it.
AI changes what's possible for non-experts — if the product is built around them.
Agentic AI only helps if it's designed into the product from the start, not bolted onto a canvas builder from the 2000s.
Visualization that doesn't lead to a decision is decoration.
A map is a means, not an end. Meridex surfaces what's worth acting on, not just what's there.
The next generation of GIS will be agentic, multilingual, and built close to its customers.
Incumbents serve the region from a distance. We're building for the GCC, in Arabic and English, on the ground.

Who’s behind it

Founder-led, and
hiring.

Meridex is founder-led, built out of Riyadh, with a GIS background and a conviction that the next category-defining spatial platform will come from the region using spatial data most aggressively — not from a 5,000-person incumbent. We’re assembling a small founding team across engineering, design, and customer success.

Meet the founder on the founder page, or if a modern, AI-native GIS platform is the kind of thing you want to build, get in touch.
